How do I know SOS Technical is reputable and I can trust you with my career search?
We have been in the staffing industry for more than 30 years, and our associates have always been our most valuable asset. We continually strive to provide you with the highest levels of service. We seek to understand your career goals so we can help make the best match with your skill level and the open positions. We take a consultative approach to your career coaching and cater to your unique needs, as well as the requirements of our clients. Our SOS Technical slogan closely corresponds with our reputation in the staffing industry-Uniting Talent with Technology.
Do I have to sign a non-compete agreement with SOS Technical?
Yes, however we believe most non-compete agreements are very restrictive and unfair to contract associates, so we have made ours one of the most reasonable in the industry. Unlike many technical contracting agencies, we do not have agreements that restrict you in your job search. We encourage you to be cautious when signing restrictive employee agreements with other agencies. Remember, you have the right to amend any contract that you feel is too constraining.
How will I know if my rate of pay is equitable?
We feel if we pay you well, you will be motivated to follow projects through to completion and will consider participating in future projects with SOS Technical. We take pride in ensuring our rate of pay is equitable and fair. Visit our career resources page where you can check your pay against average pay in both your position and location.
What fees will you charge me?
SOS Technical does not charge our associates employment fees. Use search for jobs on our website or talk to our experienced recruiters to explore employment options without any obligation.
How do I get paid and how often?
We have retained the payroll function in-house so if there is a mistake with your pay, we can correct the mistake at any of our local SOS Technical offices, and you are never in any danger of missing a paycheck.
Our workweek is the 7-day period beginning each Monday at 12:01 a.m. and ending Sunday at Midnight. Single timeslips or group time sheets can be turned in weekly, on Friday or Monday. Employees are paid on a weekly basis, typically the first Friday following the end of the preceding workweek. Payroll checks are distributed using a variety of methods. They may be:

Do you offer benefits?
Yes. We offer two separate benefits programs. Our standard is the American Workers Plan, which is a supplemental insurance plan that fits the needs of most of our associates. We also have a specialized group-funded plan that may better fit the needs of associates who qualify. Both plans are cafeteria-style and include at a minimum:
Medical
Prescription
Vision
Dental
Life Insurance
401 (k)
Do you employ W2s or 1099s?
Most of our associates are direct W2 employees of SOS Technical, while a few are independent contractors. We evaluate each situation on a case-by-case basis. To qualify for 1099 status, you must be incorporated. Due to IRS regulations, to distinguish the difference between employees and contractors, we are forced to work exclusively with incorporated 1099s.
Do you place people in permanent positions?
Yes. Many of our Job Opportunities are "contract-to-hire" which allows each associate the flexibility to transition into a company, as a direct employee of the client. The time spent as our employee gives you the opportunity to evaluate your position, career goals and the company. We also have direct placement arrangements with some clients to recruit technical employees and place them directly into the client's positions.
Do you place accounting professionals?
Yes. We place professionals in various professional fields including accounting, finance, marketing and operations. These positions typically require degrees or certifications, experience and a high level of proficiency. Review examples of the positions we fill at SOS Technical; keep in mind the list does not include all possible job titles we place.
