What Is the PM KUSUM Scheme?
PM Kusum scheme Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana is a scheme to subsidize growers to install solar irrigation pumps for cultivation. Each planter will admit a 60 subvention to set up tube wells and pump sets.
They will also get 30 of the total cost as a loan from the Government.
The Government of India has taken colorful policy measures to full fill its commitment made in the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015 to have 40 installed power generation capacities from nonfossil energy sources by 2030.
To give energy and water security to growers and enhance their income,de-dieselize the ranch sector, and reduce environmental pollution, the Government of India approved PM- KUSUM on 19.2.2019.
PM- KUSUM scheme is one of the largest enterprises in the world to give clean energy to further than 35 lakh growers by solarising their husbandry pump under elements B and C.
The approved scheme comprised three factors –
Factor A:
- Renewable power systems of capacity 500 kW to 2 MW will be set up by individual growers groups of growers cooperatives panchayats Farmer Patron Organisations (FPO). In the below-specified realities that aren’t suitable to arrange equity needed for setting up the REPP, they can conclude developing the REPP through inventors or indeed through original DISCOM, which will be considered as RPG in this case.
- DISCOMs will notify sub-station-wise fat capacity which can be fed from similar RE power shops to the Grid and shall invite operations from interested heirs for setting up the renewable energy shops.
- The renewable power generated will be bought by DISCOMs at a feed- in-tariff (FIT) determined by a separate State Electricity Regulatory Commission( SERC).
- DISCOM would be eligible to get PBI@Rs.0.40 per unit bought Rs.6.6 lakh per MW of capacity installed, whichever is lower, for a period of five times from the COD.
Factor B:
- Individual Growers will be supported to install standalone solar husbandry pumps of capacity up to7.5 HP( 15 HP during the extended scheme term)
- CFA of 30 of the standard cost or the tender cost, whichever is lower, of the stage-alone solar husbandry pump, will be handed. The State Government will give a subvention of 30, and the planter will hand the remaining 40. Bank finance may be made available for the planter’s donation, so the planter has to originally pay only 10 of the cost and the remaining 30 of the cost as a loan.
- In North Eastern States, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Lakshadweep, and A&N islets, CFA of 50 of the standard cost or the tender cost, whichever is lower, of the stage-alone solar pump will be handed. The State Government will give a subvention of 30, and the remaining 20 will be handed by the planter. Bank finance may be made available for the planter’s donation so that the planter has to originally pay only 10 of the cost and the remaining 10 of the cost as a loan.
Factor C:
- Solarisation of 15 lakhs being Grid- connected to husbandry Pumps.
- Individual Growers having grid-connected husbandry pumps will be supported to solarise pumps. Solar PV capacity up to two times of pump capacity in kW is allowed under the scheme.
- The planter will be suitable to use the generated solar power to meet the irrigation needs and the redundant solar power will be vented to DISCOMs.
- CFA of 30 of the standard cost or the tender cost, whichever is lower, of the solar PV element will be handed. The State of Government will give a new subvention of 30, and the remaining 40 will be handed by the planter. Bank finance may be made available for the planter’s donation, so the planter has to originally pay only 10 of the cost and the remaining 30 of the cost as a loan.
- In North Eastern States, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Lakshadweep, and A&N islets, CFA of 50 of the standard cost or the tender cost, whichever is lower, of the solar PV element will be handed. The State Government will give a subvention of 30, and the planter will hand the remaining 40. Bank finance may be made available for the planter’s donation, so the planter has to originally pay only 10 of the cost and the remaining 10 of the cost as a loan.
Ideals of PM KUSUM Scheme
The primary idea of the PM KUSUM Scheme is to make slice-edge technology available to our growers and give sources for dieselized irrigation to the agrarian sector.
The main objects of this scheme are :
- The solar pumps help our growers in much further effective and eco-friendly irrigation as these are able of generating safer energy.
- In addition, the pump sets comprise an energy power grid that generates further energy than diesel-driven pumps. growers will be suitable to vend the redundant power to our Government directly to enhance their income.
Benefits of the PM KUSUM Scheme
- The Indian Government initiated the construction of solar shops that can induce a total of,250 MW of power.
- The Government will subsidize 60 and give a loan of 30 of the total cost. This leads our growers to bear only 10 of the total cost to install solar shops and solar pumps.
- As per KUSUM Scheme details, our Government will give subventions to install state-of-the-art solar pumps. They ameliorate irrigation as they hold 720MV of capacity.
- This scheme offers our growers an occasion of dealing with the redundant power generated by the shops directly to our Government. This ensures the compass of increase in the income of our growers.
- A letter in a pastoral area can get a stable source of income by utilizing barren and uncultivated land for solar factory perpetration 25 times.
- The solar shops will be set up above a minimum height in cultivable lands. This way, our growers will be suitable to continue with civilization after installing the shops.
- KUSUM Scheme ensures adding the use of renewable energy helps to alleviate pollution in granges and opens a gateway to eco-friendly civilization.
